Meeting Cost Calculator by TheCalcTools
How the Meeting Cost Calculator works
Each attendee’s hourly cost is salary × overhead multiplier ÷ 2,080 working hours. Multiply by attendees and the meeting length; recurring meetings repeat about 48 weeks a year.
This counts only salary time. Context switching and preparation add more, which is why short agendas and fewer attendees pay off.
The formula
Worked example
Using the default values shown in the calculator:
| Attendees | 8 |
|---|---|
| Average yearly salary | $90000 |
| Overhead multiplier (taxes, benefits) | 1.3 |
| Length | 60 min |
| Times per week (0 if one-off) | 1 |
- 8 people on 90,000 for an hour: $450 per meeting.
- Weekly, that is $21,600 a year.
Result:
| Cost of one meeting | $450 |
|---|---|
| Cost per year | $21,600 |
| People-hours per year | 384 |
| Cost per minute | $7.50 |
