Step-Up SIP Calculator (Yearly Increase) by TheCalcTools

How the Step-Up SIP Calculator (Yearly Increase) works

A step-up (top-up) SIP raises the monthly amount once a year, usually in line with salary increases. Year k’s instalments are P × (1 + s)^k, each compounding until the end.

Summing each year’s SIP value gives a geometric series, which this calculator evaluates exactly. Returns are assumptions, not guarantees.

The formula

FV = P × A × (1 + i)^(12(Y−1)) × Σ q^k, A = ((1 + i)^12 − 1) ÷ i × (1 + i), q = (1 + s) ÷ (1 + i)^12

Worked example

Using the default values shown in the calculator:

Starting monthly investment$10000
Increase every year10 %
Expected annual return12 %
Investment period (years)15
