How the Oven Temperature Converter works
Enter the temperature and its unit.
°F = °C × 9 ÷ 5 + 32.
Fan (convection) ovens cook faster, so many recipes lower the setting by about 20 °C (25 °F).
The formula
°F = °C × 9/5 + 32°C = (°F − 32) × 5/9
Worked example
Using the default values shown in the calculator:
| Temperature | 180 |
|---|---|
| Unit | °C |
- 180 °C × 9 ÷ 5 + 32 = 356 °F.
- In a fan oven use about 160 °C (320 °F).
Result:
| Celsius | 180 |
|---|---|
| Fahrenheit | 356 |
| Fan oven (°C, about 20 °C lower) | 160 |
| Fan oven (°F) | 320 |
