How the Crypto DCA Calculator (Recurring Buys) works
Dollar-cost averaging buys a fixed amount at regular intervals regardless of price. Each buy gets amount ÷ price coins, so the average cost is the harmonic mean of the prices, lower than their simple average.
DCA reduces the risk of investing everything at a peak, but it cannot turn a falling asset into a profit. Crypto prices are volatile; this is arithmetic, not investment advice.

Worked example
Using the default values shown in the calculator:
| Amount per purchase | $100 |

| Price at each purchase | 62000, 58000, 51000, 47000, 55000, 64000 |
| Current price | $70000 |
| Fee per purchase | 1 % |
- Six buys of 100 accumulate 0.010698 coins at an average cost of $56,084.70.
- At 70,000 that is worth $748.87, a return of 24.8%.

Frequently asked questions
Is DCA better than investing a lump sum?
Historically a lump sum wins more often in rising markets, but DCA suits regular income and reduces regret if prices fall.
