How the Crypto Market Cap Calculator (Price at a Target Market Cap) works
Market cap = price × circulating supply. Fully diluted valuation uses the maximum supply, showing the value if every coin were in circulation; a big gap means future unlocks may add selling pressure.
Price targets imply market caps: compare them with existing large assets to judge whether they are realistic. Crypto prices are volatile; this is arithmetic, not investment advice.
The formula
Worked example
Using the default values shown in the calculator:
| Price per coin | $0.5 |
|---|---|
| Circulating supply (coins) | 2e+09 |
| Maximum or total supply (coins) | 5e+09 |
| Target market cap | $1e+10 |
- At 0.50 with 2 billion coins circulating, the market cap is $1,000,000,000 (FDV $2,500,000,000).
- A 10 billion cap needs $5.0000 per coin, 10.00×.
Result:
| Market cap | $1,000,000,000 |
|---|---|
| Fully diluted valuation | $2,500,000,000 |
| Price at the target market cap | $5.0000 |
| Multiple needed | 10.00× |
| Share of supply circulating | 40.0% |
