Track Lap Time Calculator (400 m Splits) by TheCalcTools
How the Track Lap Time Calculator (400 m Splits) works
Lap time = goal time ÷ race distance × lap length. On a standard 400 m track, a 20-minute 5K needs 96-second laps, 12.5 laps in all.
Even splits are usually fastest; many runners start a second or two per lap slower than goal pace and finish faster.
The formula
Lap time = goal time × lap length ÷ distance
