Frequently asked questions
What sales tax rate should I use?
Use the combined state, county and city rate for the place of sale. Check with your tax authority, as rates change and some goods are exempt.
Why not just subtract the tax rate from a total?
Tax is charged on the pre-tax price, so dividing by (1 + rate) is the correct way back.
