How the Hijri Age Calculator (Age in Islamic Years) works

Hijri years are about 354 days, so your age in Islamic years is about 3% higher than your Gregorian age: roughly one extra year for every 33.

The calculator converts both dates with the Umm al-Qura calendar and counts complete Hijri years. A birthday on the 30th of a month is shown on the 29th when that month has only 29 days.

The formula

Hijri age = completed Hijri years between the two dates (Umm al-Qura calendar)

Why is my Hijri age higher?

A Hijri year is 10 to 12 days shorter than a Gregorian year, so more Hijri years fit into the same lifetime.
