How the GST Calculator India (Add or Remove GST, CGST/SGST/IGST) works
To add GST, multiply the base price by the rate. To remove GST from an inclusive price, divide by (1 + rate): ₹11,800 including 18% GST is ₹10,000 plus ₹1,800 GST.
Within a state, GST is split equally into central (CGST) and state (SGST) tax; between states the whole amount is IGST. From 22 September 2025 most goods and services moved to 5% or 18%, with 40% for a short list of luxury and sin goods; check the HSN or SAC code for your item.
