How the DC Load Current and Daily Energy Calculator works
Enter the load in watts and the DC bus voltage.
Current = power ÷ voltage.
Energy = power × hours; multiply by the price for cost.
The formula
Worked example
Using the default values shown in the calculator:
| Load (watts) | 2800 |
|---|---|
| DC voltage (V) | 53.5 |
| Hours per day | 24 |
| Energy price (PKR per kWh) | Rs62 |
- 2,800 W ÷ 53.5 V = 52.3 A.
- Energy = 67.20 kWh a day, 2,016 kWh a month, costing $124,992.
Result:
| Current (A) | 52.3 |
|---|---|
| Energy per day (kWh) | 67.20 |
| Energy per month (kWh) | 2,016 |
| Charge per day (Ah) | 1,256 |
| Cost per month (PKR) | Rs 124,992 |
Frequently asked questions
Which voltage should I use?
Use the actual bus voltage: float voltage (about 53.5–54 V) when on rectifiers, or battery voltage (46–52 V) on batteries. Current rises as voltage falls.
Does this include conversion losses?
No. Rectifier efficiency is typically 94–97%, so AC input energy is a little higher.
