Epoxy Resin Calculator (Volume for Floors, Tables and Coatings) by TheCalcTools
How the Epoxy Resin Calculator (Volume for Floors, Tables and Coatings) works
Volume = length × width × thickness. With centimetres and millimetres, l × w × t ÷ 10 gives cubic centimetres (mL); divide by 1,000 for litres. Split it by the mix ratio printed on the kit.
Deep pours need a slow-curing ‘deep pour’ resin to avoid overheating. Measure by volume or weight exactly as the manufacturer says.
The formula
Litres = L(cm) × W(cm) × t(mm) ÷ 10,000
Worked example
Using the default values shown in the calculator:
| Length (cm) | 200 |
|---|---|
| Width (cm) | 90 |
| Thickness (mm) | 3 |
| Mix ratio: resin parts | 2 |
| Mix ratio: hardener parts | 1 |
| Extra for waste | 10 % |
- 200 × 90 cm at 3 mm with 10% extra: 5.94 L of mixed epoxy.
- At 2:1, 3.96 L resin and 1.98 L hardener.
Result:
| Mixed epoxy needed (litres) | 5.94 |
|---|---|
| Resin (litres) | 3.96 |
| Hardener (litres) | 1.98 |
| In US gallons | 1.57 |
| In US fluid ounces | 201 |
