How the Binary to Decimal Converter (and Decimal to Binary) works
In binary, each position is a power of two: 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 … from the right. Add the place values where there is a 1: 101101 = 32 + 8 + 4 + 1 = 45.
To go the other way, repeatedly divide by 2 and read the remainders from the last to the first.
The formula
Decimal = Σ bit × 2^position
