How the NSC Calculator (National Savings Certificate) works
NSC interest is compounded yearly and paid at maturity after 5 years. The rate on the day you buy is fixed for the whole term.
In the old tax regime the investment qualifies for section 80C, and the yearly accrued interest for the first four years is treated as reinvested, so it can also be claimed under 80C.
